One person is dead and four people injured following a car accident Friday afternoon.
84-year-old Yolanda Guoladdle of Hobart was riding in a 1994 GMC Jimmy eastbound on I-40 near mile marker 65, when the driver of the GMC tried exiting the highway from the inside lane and traveled into the path of a 2011 Ford Escape in the outside lane—according to an OHP Troop H report.
Ms. Guoladdle was taken by Sinor EMS to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead due to massive injuries.
The driver of the GMC, 26-year-old Danielle Guoladdle of Hobart, was also taken by Sinor EMS to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital with head injuries but was later released.
A second passenger in the GMC, 4-year-old Aiden Blackburn of Hobart, was taken by Sinor EMS to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital with head injuries and later released.
A third passenger in the GMC, 6-year-old Christian Blackburn of Hobart, was not injured.
The driver of the Ford Escape, 77-year-old Armando Montejano of Lincoln, Nebraska, was taken to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital with head injuries.
His passenger, 75-year-old Martha Montejano of Lincoln, Nebraska, was taken to Integris Clinton Regional Hospital with head injuries and later released.
The accident happened at 2:15 p.m. Friday.
The OHP report indicated that only 6-year-old Christian was wearing a seatbelt in the GMC and that the vehicle was not equipped with airbags.
The report also indicated that both Montejanos in the Ford were wearing their seatbelts and that airbags deployed.
