Oklahomans for Equality is hosting Tulsa's annual Gay Pride Parade. Pre-parade activities began earlier before the parades actual start at 5 this evening.
The event ran through the Brady Arts District, Blue Dome District, and East Village. Gay Pride events commemorate Stonewall Rights in 1969 when gay people began to stand up to violence and discrimination.
"So today we commemorate what they did. In Tulsa it's a celebration that we live on Oklahoma's most welcoming inclusive city," says Toby Jenkins with Oklahomans for Equality.
Tomorrow is the city's pride in the park picnic celebration.
It will be held at Centennial Park (6th and Peoria) starting at noon.
