Miss Oklahoma: Preliminary Competition Begins

Preliminary competition is underway to crown the next Miss Oklahoma.

The scholarship pageant is taking place this week at the Mabee Center.

It goes through Saturday night when the winner will be crowned.

She will then compete in the Miss America Pageant next January in Las Vegas.

Good luck to all of the contestants!

Betty Thompson is the current Miss Oklahoma and will give up the crown and her reign Saturday night.

Thompson was 1st Runner Up at the Miss America Pageant in January.

On Sunday night a tornado went through the town of Carney. It destroyed or damaged about 40 homes. When you look out at the area there are homes in every direction that show some kind of damage.
