It's time to dust off your helmet and bring out your old Big Wheel tricycle! The Fifth Annual Tulsa Big Wheel Race is back in town with a new course.
The unique fundraiser where participants ride a child sized three-wheeled apparatus through an obstacle course starts Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Fassler Hall parking lot. Solo participants and teams will compete in relay races in hopes of winning prizes and bragging rights.
However, this race does not only give adults the chance to be kids again. The annual competition impacts the community in a positive way by benefiting TYPros' 2012 community partner, YWCA and their mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
Last year, the competition raised over $15,000 for TYPros' community partner and this year they hope to exceed that amount. To help the cause, Fassler Hall has agreed to donate 10% of their sales during the event to the YWCA.
If you are interested in being a participant, registration begins at 5 p.m. at Fassler Hall. But if you would rather not ride a child's toy through an obstacle course there will also be live music and other activities during the event.
