While the Thunder is making baskets, they are opening boxes at Academy Sports. And you can tell they have shirts for everyone.
"We going to the ship! Let's go we going to the ship!" fans yelled out.
The first fans rushed to Academy Sports, right after the winning buzzer. That's when Academy opened it's doors for conference championship T-shirts. And it never slowed down. At 10-this morning they were busy.
"We just got restocked as we speak just as you came in the door. We have a lot of men sizes restocked we are expecting more shipments this afternoon," said manager, Kim Gleishman.
That's good because fans like Victor Grimes are looking high and low, for Thunder gear. He'd already been disappointed by another store.
"They had a big ad in the paper, and got there and there was nothing there, people were already calling the store," he said.
Academy has T-shirts for men women and children. And if you are number one fan, there are tumblers, caps, flags and license plates.
The young thunder team is an inspiration to young players. Marjorie Rooney wants some of their moves--from the post players.
"Like really like steal the players and get in there and be able to score. You watch them and think man. I want to be like them," said Rooney.
It may be the Oklahoma City Thunder. But you can't tell it. Tulsa loves this team.
"We knew it would be crazy not real surprised we knew our Oklahoma City stores would be busy, but also here, because we know Oklahoma fans are pretty loyal," said Gleishman.
Steady footsteps in and out are proof Tulsans plan to represent a team--that so far is representing Oklahoma like champs.
Academy wants the Thunder to win the championship. If that happens, they will do their big sale and production, all over again!
