Tulsa -
Suspects failed to gain entry into a midtown Tulsa McDonald's early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the McDonald's in the 1300 block of South Harvard Avenue around 3:00 a.m.
Tulsa Police Captain Richard Alexander told KTUL.com that at least two employees were inside the restaurant cleaning after hours when three suspects attempted to break in.
Capt. Alexander said employees reported that three men tried to gain entry. One of them reportedly had either a large pipe or a shotgun.
Alexander said the employees had sought shelter in the walk-in freezer before calling police.
According to police, officers broke through the second door in order to enter the McDonald's because they were uncertain whether the suspects were inside the building. All three suspects had left the scene by the time police arrived, however.
One employee reportedly suffered a medical emergency and was taken to Saint John Medical Center.
Employees described the three suspects as black males driving an older model white or silver minivan with wood paneling on the side.
