Woman Found Dead in Lawton Apartment with Child Nearby

A woman was found dead in an apartment Friday afternoon, with her infant child lying next to her.

Lawton Police were called to the Candlewood Apartments in the 4700 block of Northwest Motif Manor Boulevard in Lawton just before 12:00 p.m. Friday.

Investigators could not determine how long the woman had been dead.

The apartment manager had called police after the woman's family members had been unable to reach her.

The baby was taken to Comanche County Memorial Hospital to be checked out.

The woman's body was sent to the medical examiner to determine her cause of death.

According to Lawton Police Sergeant Wallace, the woman's name has not yet been released.

Police do not suspect foul play at this time.
