The Leake Car Show and Auction celebrated its 40th year Saturday at the QuikTrip Center. Organizers included about 40 pre-World War II cars in this year's show to honor the event's founder, James Leake, Sr., who passed away about ten years ago.
Leake's granddaughter, Audrey Seven Oaks Young, told Channel 8 he "used to buy any old car he could find." Several event participants said they enjoyed seeing this addition.
There are about 750 cars being shown in the weekend-long event. Organizers expect thousands of people will attend the event before the event wraps up Sunday afternoon.
One car show staff member agreed to donate his hair to Locks of Love during the event Saturday. A bidder agreed to pay $3,500 to the local Ronald McDonald House for his hair donation.
