Volunteers Build Kid-Designed Playground At Tulsa YMCA

More than 200 volunteers showed up at the YMCA Westside branch to help build a playground.

Children designed the playground back in April when they submitted drawings.

The new equipment will make sure about 2,000 local kids have a safe place to play and improve their health by preventing disease.

The YMCA Westside branch is located at 5400 S. Olympia Ave.

On Sunday night a tornado went through the town of Carney. It destroyed or damaged about 40 homes. When you look out at the area there are homes in every direction that show some kind of damage. Some of the families that have lived there for 17 years and have never been through anything like this. They didn't even have enough time to get their family in the shelter.
