Inola -
Rogers County deputies arrested a man they say attempted to steal a motorcycle from a home near Inola.
It happened Saturday afternoon. Deputies say the homeowner had arrived home and discovered the cover to his Harley Davidson had been removed and a man was standing beside the motorcycle.
The homeowner and the suspect exchanged words and the suspect ran away through some trees. A short time later, deputies found a vehicle along the side of Highway 412 not far from the home where the attempted theft had occurred.
A man in the vehicle matched the suspect description and deputies asked the man why he was on the side of the road.
The man -- identified as Orval Wayne Taylor -- said he had run out of gas. He denied knowing anything about a motorcycle or trespassing.
Deputies confirmed he had run out of gas, but also found multiple fixed blade knives and a gun between the driver's seat and center console. The homeowner arrived a short time later and identified Taylor as the person who had been on his property.
Taylor was booked into the Rogers County Jail on complaints of carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing an officer and resisting execution of legal process.
