Police Identify Victim of Fatal Accident

Police have identified the victim of a single-vehicle crash that happened Wednesday night as a 35-year-old man.

Patrick O. Wilson died Wednesday night after the SUV he was driving northbound on Peoria near Jasper Street left the roadway, truck a tree and a fence, rolled over and struck a house.

Wilson died at the scene.

Investigators say a child playing in the yard of the home that was hit narrowly missed being hit by the vehicle. No one inside the home was injured.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
