Correctional Facility Escaped Inmate Apprehended

A man who escaped from the Mack Alford Correctional Center's minimum security unit Thursday afternoon was apprehended on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., the MACC Correctional Emergency Response Team located escaped inmate Jeffrey Craft at Noel's Food Market in the 900 block of North Highway 69 in Stringtown.

Craft was taken into custody without incident and transported back to the correctional facility.

Craft has now been placed in the segregated housing unit.

Craft had gone missing from the correctional facility in the 1100 block of North Highway 69 in Stringtown during a routine count at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Craft was serving a 20-year sentence out of Oklahoma County for second-degree burglary.

Felony escape charges will be filed Monday against Craft.

Stringtown is located in Atoka County. The population was 396 as of the 2000 census.
