The 2012 NBA Finals continues to generate a high level of viewership across the country and in Oklahoma. NBA officials released a statement indicating last night's Game 2 scored an 11.8 rating which is higher than last year's Game 2 (Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks - 10.5 rating.) Nationally, last night's Heat win over the Thunder was the second highest overnight rating for a Game 2 on ABC.
Locally, Game 2 was nearly identical to Tuesday night's Game 1 rating.
The ABC coverage on Tulsa's Channel 8 averaged a 27.8 rating and 42.9 share in the Tulsa area according to Nielsen. The game peaked in the fourth quarter with a 33.1 rating and with more than half of area televisions tuned to the game.
