A Claremore mother and her boyfriend are behind bars for allegedly abusing her six-month-old child. 20-year-old Tiffany Love and 22-year-old Matthew Jenkins are being held in Rogers County Jail while Claremore police investigate their case.

Channel 8 spoke with Jenkins' aunt, Brenda Morton, Friday at the couple's home. Morton said the whole family is shocked by the allegations against the couple. She said she only knew them to be great caregivers.

Claremore police said Love was arrested shortly after she and her grandmother brought her child to the hospital to have doctors examine his right arm, which was functioning poorly. Doctors found seven fractures at various stages of healing in the baby's limbs.

Neighbors told Channel 8 they were shocked to hear the news of the couple's arrest.

"It's messed up that parents would do that," said Eddy England, a resident of Deerfield Springs mobile home park.

Police said the report on the couple is not yet finished but charges could be filed in a week or two.

Morton told Channel 8 Love's grandmother hopes to fight for custody of the baby. He is expected to recover from his injuries. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Human Services.
