Pedestrian Killed in Okfuskee County Accident

A woman was accidentally hit by a car early Saturday morning.

67-year-old Lois Gauze of Castle, Oklahoma, was walking southbound in the middle of State Highway 48 when she was hit by a 1992 Buick LeSabre—according to an OHP Troop D report.

The report indicated that the driver of the Buick, 59-year-old Jesse Ramsey of I.X.L., Oklahoma, was unable to see Ms. Gauze due to the darkness.

The accident happened Saturday morning just after Midnight, roughly three miles north of Castle.

Gauze was pronounced dead at the scene by Creek Nation EMS.

Ramsey was uninjured.

The OHP report indicated that Ramsey was wearing his seatbelt.
