A local community is going all out to celebrate its history this weekend. Black Gold Days is well underway in Glenpool. It features carnival rides ... food ... craft vendors ... a parade, and much, much more. The celebration is 34 years strong commemorating the 1905 discovery of oil in Glenpool.
"Would appreciate if everyone comes out enjoys Black Gold Days it's the biggest event of Glenpool during the years and we hope everyone comes out and has fun." That from Jennifer Cook, with the Glenpool Chamber.
The event is sponsored by the Glenpool Chamber of Commerce and takes place in Black GOLD Park on U-S 75 at 145th street. Reba McIntyre's brother Pate McIntyre Is performing until 7 tonight.
