Posted: Updated:

Congressman Dan Boren announced Tuesday that he will go to work for the Chickasaw nation once his 4th term ends this year.

Boren has been hired as president of corporate development for the Chickasaw Nation.  He says in his new job he will be charged with growing the tribe's current business initiatives and developing future commercial opportunities as well.

"It has been a great honor and privilege to serve the people of eastern Oklahoma in the U.S. House of Representatives the past eight years. Andrea and I are excited about this new opportunity and look forward to helping build a stronger economic future for the Chickasaw Nation," Boren said Tuesday.

Bill Anoatubby, Governor of the Chickasaw Nation said, "We are pleased to have someone of Dan's caliber join the team within the Commerce Division of the Chickasaw Nation."

Six Republicans, three Democrats, and one Independent will be on next week's primary election ballot for Boren's 2nd District seat.
