Today, during their weekly meeting, the Rotary Club of Tulsa will pack backpacks with nutritious food for children who have little or no food to eat on the weekends.
They are teaming up with the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma to aid the Food Bank's Backpack Program.
The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is the largest private hunger relief organization in Eastern Oklahoma serving 450 partner programs in 24 counties in Eastern Oklahoma.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, Oklahoma along with Arkansas leads the nation as the hungriest state from the 2010 Household Food Security report.
