The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) and the Tulsa Drillers teamed up for an All-American blood drive Friday.

ONEOK Field hosted the blood drive from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday.

All who gave blood scored two free tickets to the July 6th Drillers baseball game and fireworks show.

Each donor also received two tickets to the Tulsa Zoo, a T-shirt, and a chance to win a suite for a Drillers' game.

River Spirit Casino provided a coupon for $10 match play to each donor, and one lucky donor won a gift basket from the casino, including a $100 gift card.

The blood drive came just a week in advance of the July 4th holiday week, when blood donation typically declines.

"The Drillers and River Spirit Casino understand the importance and vulnerability of the blood supply for our hospitals," said OBI President and CEO Dr. John Armitage. "In the midst of the fun of baseball and other summer past times, O-B-I needs help to meet the needs of patients in our area for the July 4th holiday week."

To schedule an appointment to donate blood, call 1-877-340-8777, or visit www.obi.org.
