Woman Rescued From East Tulsa Apartment Fire

Posted: Updated:

A woman breathes in toxic smoke as her apartment burns early Tuesday morning.

The blaze started around 2:30 a.m. inside a unit at the Bradford Apartments near 31st and Garnett Rd.

Firefighters said it started downstairs and spread from there.

Crews found a woman collapsed inside and got her out just in time.

She had a very light pulse, but she was breathing on her own in an ambulance on the way to the hospital, firefighters said.

Paramedics believe she should recover just fine.

Investigators say food on the stove caught fire. Most of the damage was contained to two units.

No one else was hurt. The American Red Cross is helping six families who were displaced.
