Book Reading Sends Positive Message To Kids

You can be anything!

That was the message sent to kids in East Tulsa today by our own Laura Moss.

"Once there were three princesses. Princess Allie, Princess Mellie and Princess Libby," she read today at Martin Regional Library.

The children heard several stories including a book called "Princesses Are Not Quitters!" and another called "I Can Be Anything!"

Channel 8 is a proud sponsor of the Children's Summer Reading Program through the Tulsa County Library.

Kids can read 8 books or more and get all kinds of prizes, like bicycles, food coupons and tickets to see the Tulsa Drillers play!

For the past three years, the 3 Gun Nation Pro Series shooting competition has only been for men. This year, they are opening it up to an elite group of women, and a Tulsa Police officer is one of those women. Ten ladies have earned their spot on this pro series. Each pro has to use a riffle, shotgun, and pistol, and it's not easy to be a master of all three.
