Tulsa -
A firefighter was hospitalized after a midtown house fire Tuesday.
The Tulsa Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3400 block of East 64th Street just after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Firefighters told Tulsa's Channel 8's crew on the scene that flames were coming out of the house by the time they arrived.
A UPS driver reportedly pounded on the front door of the house to notify the homeowner that the roof was on fire.
It took approximately 45 firefighters to battle the blaze.
Firefighters believe that the single-story house was a total loss. No surrounding houses were damaged.
A 53-year-old firefighter was taken to OSU Medical Center in fair condition.
Red Cross was on the scene as well to ensure the firefighters were hydrated.
