Costly Summer For Families

Families are paying a pretty penny to keep their kids busy this summer.

According to new data from American Express, this summer break will cost an average family $600.

Some affluent families are expected to dish out nearly double that amount.

Most parents say they plan to spend a chunk of that money on trips to places like theme parks.

But day camps are expected to be the biggest expense.
