Think you've had too much to drink on the Fourth of July?
AAA Oklahoma will offer a free tow for your car and a free ride home for you from 6:00 p.m. July 3rd until 2:00 a.m. July 5th.
The "Tipsy Tow" service will be available in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas, as well as in Lawton, Muskogee, Ardmore, Enid, Shawnee, and Bartlesville.
"You take a warm day or evening, add a holiday party and combine with alcohol, and that's a recipe for tragedy behind the wheel," said Chuck Mai, spokesman for AAA Oklahoma. "With AAA's Tipsy Tow, everyone, including the vehicle, gets home safely."
This is the 22nd year AAA Oklahoma has offered Tipsy Tow. Mai says he hopes the program gets a lot of use and feels lives have been saved by using the service.
There is one catch: the only place AAA will take you is your home.
To call Tipsy Tow, dial (800) AAA-HELP and ask for Tipsy Tow. AAA will provide a free tow and ride, no questions asked, within a 15-mile radius of point of pickup, for the vehicle and up to two people.
