Almost 200 members of the Oklahoma National Guard's 120th Engineering Battalion were joined by friends and family at a send-off ceremony, Saturday Morning.

The farewell ceremony took place at ORU's Mabee Center.

Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Jack Ritter told KTUL.com that he's "extremely proud of the support of the citizens of the State of Oklahoma have given us and every other deployment formation before us."

The soldiers have been training at Camp Gruber near Braggs and are headed to Fort Bliss near El Paso, Texas, before deploying to Afghanistan later this summer.

The battalion is based out of the Broken Arrow Armed Force Reserve Center.

They are due to return to their loved ones by summer 2013.
