Mayor Dewey Bartlett
East Tulsa -
As temperatures continue to heat up, Mayor Dewey Bartlett is encouraging Tulsans to conserve water as much as possible.
Bartlett spoke to reporters at the A.B. Jewell Water Treatment Plant in East Tulsa, early Saturday Afternoon.
The Mayor pointed out that because of the recent string of triple digit temps, the city's water system is under more strain than usual.
Last year, the city implemented stage one water rationing, limiting water usage to 210 million gallons per day city-wide.
Effective immediately, the City of Tulsa is lowering the threshold at which they implement stage one water rationing to 194 million gallons per day.
Tulsa's Channel 8 had a crew at the press conference. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
