Oklahoma -

Oklahoma Gas & Electric dispatched crews to Indiana on Saturday to help crews restore power to residents in Indiana.

According to OG&E Communications Specialist Penny Seale, OG&E dispatched 35 trucks and 60 men to the Muncie, Indiana, area.

Storms moved east from Indiana through Ohio and into West Virginia on Friday, knocking out power to millions of customers.

The OG&E crews left at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, will spend the night in St. Louis, MIssouri, and will arrive in Muncie on Sunday.

Ms. Seale told KTUL.com there are 3.8 million people without power from Dayton, Ohio, to Washington, D.C. She said 1.7 million of them are in Indiana.

The OG&E crews from Adair, Paul's Valley, OKC, Chandler, Sapulpa, and other OG&E-served towns in our state will be assisting AEP in the Muncie area.

Seale said OG&E is one of the top companies called if other states need assistance. OG&E has a mutual assistance program with other utility companies nationwide.

The Oklahoma crews will stay in Muncie until they are no longer needed.
