
Workers at Tulsa's American Airlines maintenance base are hopeful the airline can reach labor agreements with the transport workers union this week.
American had announced it would resume negotiations with flight attendants and mechanics this week.
Pilots are expected to vote on a new contract later this month.
Several workers say the union realizes there will be layoffs with almost any version of a new labor agreement but the cuts could be far less if a union-approved contract is in place with the company.
American filed for bankruptcy protection in November and plans to eliminate 13,000 union jobs as a cost-cutting move.
There are more than 7,000 workers in Tulsa.
