Computer Malware Could Keep You From Internet

Posted: Updated:

You've got some computer homework over the weekend. If not, you could be booted from the Internet come next week.

Facebook is notifying users who have a certain type of malware on their computers.

The FBI is planning to shut down the "DNS changer Trojan" on Monday.

If you don't remove it before then you could lose Internet access.

If that happens, you'll need to call your Internet provider to get reconnected.

Almost 300,000 computers could be affected.

To check and clean your computer, the FBI has set up a web site.

Go to dcwg.org, then click on "detect". If you get a red indicator, that's bad.

You'll need to then hit "fix".
