A select group of bridal stores across the country has teamed up for a unique crusade..
And that's to dazzle military brides-to-be with free wedding gowns.
Only one Oklahoma bridal store is taking part in that generous mission.
Melissa Herrara manages Impression Bridal in Northwest Oklahoma City. (13801 N. Pennsylvania Ave.)
She also happens to be a military bride. Her husband is stationed at Tinker AFB, which makes what her store is doing next Tuesday extra special.
"Brides Across America. It's for the military brides. They can be qualified for a free dress," she says.
That's right, brides with deployed husbands past, present and future, can get a free wedding dress.
And not just any dress. We're talking designer gowns ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
Melissa helped her shop give away 15 dresses last year.
"Their fiancees were getting deployed in the next three months, so they didn't want to just buy a little simple dress and go down. They wanted to still have that special moment and to take the pictures of them in their uniform and make it special."
The goal of Brides Across America is to give our bravest men and women a little extra help with something very special.
"A free dress can go a long way, especially in this economy and for everyone going over there."
Channel 8 checked, and even brides from the Tulsa area are invited.
To qualify, you need to take the following to Impression Bridal in Oklahoma City this coming Tuesday:
Proof you or your significant other are on active duty..
Or proof you or your significant other have deployed in the past five years, or will deploy in the near future.
