Tulsa -
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) hits Tulsa metro streets Friday night.
The second phase of OHP's 4th of July DUI enforcement begins Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and runs until 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Troopers will aggressively target DUI and alcohol offenders.
Special attention will be given to violators who disobey traffic laws such as speeding, failing to properly buckle up, and those who disregard the move-over law.
"We will again hit the streets to secure safe travel for anyone who chooses to drive on Oklahoma roadways," said OHP Lieutenant George Brown. "We will not tolerate anyone who makes the decision to drink and drive or others who transport open containers of alcohol. This is a special D-U-I enforcement project, and motorists can expect to see many Troopers driving in and around the metro area during this initiative."
OHP did not announce which areas of the Tulsa metro area troopers would be focusing on.
