Two people are dead following a head-on collision Friday afternoon.
19-year-old Clark Barton of Boynton was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup southbound on U.S. Highway 62 when the he crossed the center of the roadway, entering the northbound lane and colliding head-on with a 1999 GMC Suburban—according to an OHP Troop C report.
Both Barton and 55-year-old Eugene Taylor of Boynton, the driver of the GMC Suburban, were reportedly pinned and extricated by Haskell Fire and Rescue.
Both Barton and Taylor were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident happened around 3:45 p.m.
According to the OHP report, Barton was not wearing a seatbelt. Taylor reportedly was wearing a seatbelt.
Airbags reportedly deployed in both vehicles.
The cause of the head-on collision is still under investigation.
