A man was arrested Saturday morning for causing a disturbance at a local café and threatening police with a knife.

Tulsa Police officers responded to a call about a disturbance at the Corner Café in the 5300 block of South Peoria Avenue just after 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

41-year-old Christopher Shayne Hobson was reportedly carving into the vinyl seats with a knife.

Police evacuated the restaurant after Hobson reportedly strapped the knife to his wrist with a rope and refused to put it down.

EMSA was standing by as a precaution.

Hobson then allegedly charged at six police officers with the knife.

Police subdued Hobson with a taser and pepper-spray balls.

Hobson was taken to a local hospital and was later booked into the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center just before 10:00 a.m.

He has been charged with six felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one misdemeanor count of malicious injury to property.

His bond was set at $150,500.
