The Union Public Schools Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning has been chosen as an education leader.

Dr. Kathy Dodd has been selected as an Oklahoma education leader for the prestigious Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC).

Dodd will join Oklahoma's Educator Leader Cadre (ELC), 24 educators, who join other cadres across the nation as part of a network of K-16 educators (Kindergarten through College Senior) that provide leadership on state implementation of the Common Core State Standards and PARCC.

"Dr. Dodd's participation in the E-L-C over the next three years will contribute to the overall success of Oklahoma's transition to the Common Core State Standards and the P-A-R-C-C Assessments," said Kerri White, PARCC State Coordinator for the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

Dodd will participate in both state-level and national-level training seminars this summer.

PARCC is a 24-state consortium working together to develop next-generation K-12 assessments in English and math.
