Three Sooners make the 2012 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List. Senior defensive back Demontre Hurst, junior defensive back Tony Jefferson and linebacker Tom Wort are up for the best defensive player in the country award.
Hurst earned All-Big 12 2nd team honors last season. He led Oklahoma with 11 pass breakups and racked up 55 tackles a year ago.
Jefferson was an All-Big 12 honorable mention selection in 2011. He had a team-high four interceptions and registered 74 tackles last season.
Wort also earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors last season. The OU linebacker had 71 tackles, 3.5 sacks, two interceptions, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery.
