Tulsa, OK -

A local company has donated 200 pounds of tomatoes to the food bank.

Southwood Landscape and Garden Center gave the tomatoes to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

It's a way to help those struggling with hunger during the summer months have a healthy diet.

The tomatoes were specially-grown varieties of heirloom tomatoes organically grown in Jenks.

The project is a joint effort with OSU Tulsa to give those less fortunate a nutritious meal.

The donation was this week's harvest of the crop.

Southwood has partnered with the food bank on several other occasions.
