South Tulsa -

Thunderstorms pelted areas of south Tulsa Friday evening.

Viewers reported downed power lines down between 71st Street South and 81st Street South, and between Lewis Avenue and Riverside Drive.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) spokesperson Stan Whiteford confirmed that 2000 to 3000 customers were without power as of 6:15 p.m. Friday.

Whiteford said PSO's ORU sub-station was hit.

By 8:00 p.m. Friday, Whiteford said 2700 customers were without power. Roughly two-dozen utility poles were either down or leaning between 71st Street South and 81st Street South on Lewis Avenue.

Whiteford called this "pretty significant damage" but estimated that crews would work to restore power throughout the night and into Saturday morning.

Tulsa's Channel 8 has crews in the field. One crew reported that 81st Street South is closed between Lewis and Riverside due to flash flooding.

A viewer reported that a tree hit a truck at the Foxfire Apartments at 71st Street South and Wheeling Avenue. Crews were reportedly on the scene to free the driver.

Tulsa Police Dispatch confirmed a tree completely blocking the roadway at 71st Street South and South Denver Avenue, as well as traffic lights out at 91st Street South and Riverside Drive by the River Spirit Casino.

According to FAA spokesperson Tony Molinaro, the nosegear of a Cessna 320 collapsed as the plane, registry N329DB, landed at Jones Riverside Airport in Jenks. Molinaro said there were no reported injuries.

River Spirit Casino announced just before 9:00 p.m. Friday that they would be closed until further notice due to damage to power and air-conditioning facilities caused by Friday night's high winds, lightening, and rain.

Just after 10:00 p.m., the Tulsa Chapter of the American Red Cross said they were responding to the Pheasant Run Apartments in the 2000 block of East 73rd Street South, which was damaged by Friday evening's storms.

Whiteford of PSO told KTUL.com that power was restored for all customers by 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

River Spirit Casino Marketing Director Bob Dimmick said they re-opened their doors to the public at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
