A Bixby man was booked early Saturday morning for trafficking methamphetamine.

56-year-old Timothy Shawn Rice was stopped in the 1300 block of North Aspen Avenue in Broken Arrow Friday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. after officers saw him crossing the center lane on the Broken Arrow Expressway. His white Pontiac Sunfire reportedly had a malfunctioning driver's side brake light.

A records check alerted officers that Rice had numerous outstanding Tulsa County warrants, so he was placed under arrest.

During a canine search of the car, Broken Arrow Police officers found three Ziploc bags containing 15.5 gross grams, 10.0 gross grams, and 4.0 gross grams of a white crystal-like substance, two glass smoking pipes with residue, a Marlboro cigarette box with empty Ziploc bags, a Ziploc bag containing 7.5 grams of a yellowish substance, and a set of black and chrome digital scales.

All four Ziploc bags reportedly tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

During the booking process, police recovered $812 they believed to be proceeds from the illegal sale of meth.

Rice's bond was set at $29,020.12.
