Three Young Children Critically Injured in Pushmataha County Accident

Three young children are listed in critical condition following an SUV accident Saturday morning.

33-year-old Jelena Cureington of Tulsa was driving a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer northbound on the Indian Nation Turnpike when she fell asleep, drove the SUV into the median, overcorrected, drove off the road to the right—according to an OHP Troop D report. The vehicle reportedly rolled one time, landing on its wheels.

Ms. Cureington was taken by Antlers Fire and Ambulance to Pushmataha County Hospital, where she was treated and released with minor injuries.

6-year-old passenger Joshua Cohran, 7-year-old passenger Mason Cohran, and 10-year-old passenger Hayley Cohran—all from Florence, Mississippi—were taken by EagleMed to Children's Medical Center in Dallas in critical condition with head and torso injuries.

9-year-old passenger Less Cohran of Florence, Mississippi, was taken by Antlers Fie and Ambulance to Pushmataha County Hospital in stable condition with leg injuries.

2-year-old passenger Noah Cohran of Florence, Mississippi, rode in the ambulance with Less to Pushmataha County Hospital but reportedly was uninjured.

35-year-old passenger Elizabeth Daniels of Tulsa, 27-year-old passenger Emma Cohran of Florence, Mississippi, and 17-year-old passenger Dalton LaCore of Florence, Mississippi, were all taken by Antlers Fire and Ambulance to Pushmataha County Hospital, where they were reportedly treated and released with minor injuries.

The accident happened just after 11:00 a.m. Saturday on the Indian Nation Turnpike near Mile Marker 23.2.

According to the OHP report—everyone was wearing seatbelts except for Emma Cohran and Dalton LaCore, who were riding in the cargo area of the SUV. Hayley Cohran and Less Cohran were reportedly sharing a seatbelt, as were Mason Cohran and Joshua Cohran. Noah Cohran was reportedly in a child restraint system.

Airbags were equipped but reportedly did not deploy.
