Tulsa -
For the first time ever, bed bugs have shut down Tulsa's Central Library in Downtown Tulsa.
Bed bugs were discovered on several chairs on the third floor.
All of the chairs have now been replaced.
As a precaution, the library has been shut down so it can be exterminated.
And Wednesday, a special dog named Miss Liberty Bell will be brought in to sniff-out any other bed bugs.
She's Oklahoma's only bed bug sniffing dog.
Gary Shaffer is the library system's CEO. He says, "We're taking every precaution. I think we're being overly precautionary. But in this kind of situation where it is a public health risk, we feel that it is better to err on the side of caution."
Visitors inside the library at the time are asked to contact the health department with any questions.
The Central Library will be closed Wednesday as well, at least until noon.
All other locations will remain open.
