Defensively, Brodrick Brown (Houston) is a first-team all-league pick. He was an All-Big 12 selection last season and is already on preseason watch lists for the Thorpe Award, Nagurski Trophy, Bednarik Award, and the Lott IMPACT Trophy. Brown was a semifinalist for Lott and Thorpe honors last season.
Quinn Sharp (Mansfield, Texas) is the first-team all-league pick at both punter and kicker one year after being named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year. He is the reigning All-Big 12 performer at both positions. In 2011, he became the first dual all-league pick in conference history. Sharp has already been awarded All-America honors as both a punter and kicker.
