Arrowhead Mall Shooting Suspect Found Guilty

A man accused of firing shots that killed a 17-year-old in 2010 has was found guilty Friday afternoon.

21-year-old Dondray L. Fowler reportedly fired shots that killed one young man and injured five other people at Arrowhead Mall in the 500 block of North Main Street in Muskogee on April 10, 2010.

17-year-old Jarrod Reed was killed in the shooting two years ago.

Fowler was found guilty Friday of both first-degree murder and assault and battery with a deadly weapon.

Fowler's attorneys said he was acting in self-defense, but the prosecution claimed the shooting was intentional.

Fowler did not testify during his trial.

The jury began its deliberation around 12:30 p.m. Friday and delivered its verdict around 5:00 p.m.

According to the Muskogee Phoenix, the jury recommended a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.
