A man shot at a man trying to steal his truck Friday night.

Two men had been shopping at Woodland Hills Mall in the 7100 block of South Memorial Drive.

According to Tulsa Police Corporal Kelvin Williams, a man was inside one of the men's truck when the shoppers returned to the parking lot.

The suspect inside the gray Ford pickup reportedly tried to run over the truck owner's friend, prompting the friend to pull out a gun and start firing at the suspect inside the truck.

Cpl. Williams said the suspect drove away but ditched the truck at Twin Peaks Sports Bar in the 7000 block of South Memorial Drive and then fled on foot.

The incident happened around 6:00 p.m. Friday, and police had cleared the scene by 9:00 p.m.

Williams said no one was injured.

The only description the two men were able to give police about the suspect was that he was an Hispanic male.
