Young Man Injured in Alfalfa County ATV Crash

A young man was injured in an ATV accident Friday afternoon.

18-year-old Zachary Bowden of Carmen was driving a 2006 Suzuki Quadracer ATV southbound on Carmen Park Road when he ran off the road to the right, hit large chunks of concrete and then a tree, and flipped the ATV into the bottom of a dam—according to an OHP Troop J report.

Mr. Bowden was reportedly pinned under the Suzuki for about five minutes before being freed.

He was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital in Enid in stable condition with head, arm, and torso injuries.

The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. Friday.

According to the OHP report, Bowden may have been exceeding the speed limit.
