Man Dies in Creek County Accident

A man died in a car wreck late Saturday night.

40-year-old Johnny Lanor McGinnis of Bristow was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse southbound on State Highway 48 when he ran off the road to the right and hit a roadside drain pipe, causing the sports car to roll over twice—according to an OHP Troop B report.

Mr. McGinnis was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.

The accident happened just after 11:15 p.m. Saturday, two miles south of State Highway 33.

According to the OHP report—McGinnis was wearing a seatbelt, and an airbag did deploy.
