  Muslim leaders are looking to expand a Mosque in Edmond, but some neighbors are fighting the idea.

  Right now, a small mosque sits across from the University of Central Oklahoma.

  The Islamic Society of Edmond wants to make it 5 times its current size at a cost of about $5,000.

  The proposal is awaiting approval from city planners.

  But opponents have sent letters to Planning Commissioners asking them to reject the plan.

  The Planning Commissioners say their job is only to make sure building plans meet certain regulations, not to weigh in on the activities inside.

  Construction plans are currently on hold because the Mosque is considering some changes to the design.
