Eufaula Celebrates 28th Annual Whole Hawg Days

Eufaula prepares for one of it's biggest festivals of the year.

A carnival, rodeo, crafts for kids, parade, poker run, car show, arts and crafts, a BBQ cook-off and sandwich giveaway planned for the 28th annual Whole Hawg Days Festival.

It runs July 26th through the 28th. Admission is free, and organizers say there truly is something for the entire family to enjoy.

Whole Hawg Days kicks off Thursday at 6:00pm with a carnival in Posey Park. A rodeo follows at 8:00pm.

The festival parade happens Friday night at 6:00 in downtown, and the rodeo continues at 8:00 p.m. 

A Poker Run begins at 7:00am Saturday at Eufaula Cove Marina with participants hailing from several states to compete for 1st place. As much as $45,000 in prize money will be given away.

Judging begins at 3:00p.m. in Saturday's BBQ cook-off. Cash prizes will be awarded, and the public is invited to sample all of the competitors' cooking for free.

Outlying marinas participating in the event include Cole's Evergreen, No. 9 and Belle Starr.
