Pittsburg County, OK -

Residents in the McAlester area went without power Thursday night.

The Pittsburg County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) told KTUL.com that one power line was down at Bugtussel Road and Bucks of Gaines Creek Road. Another power line was split but not completely down.

PCSO also said that an electrical box caught fire in the Tannehill area, causing power outages there.

American Electric Power/Public Service Company of Oklahoma (AEP/PSO) spokesperson Ed Bettinger told KTUL.com that approximately 760 customers were without power and that PSO expected to have power restored by 2:00 a.m.

Mr. Bettinger said the power outages were scattered throughout various communities in the Pittsburg County area.
