Kids build "Own the Night" Lego structures at the Central Tulsa Library
Downtown Tulsa -
Finalists competed for the title of Champion of the 2012 Great Lego Build-Off on Friday.
Children and teens have competed at various Tulsa City-County Libraries all summer, building Lego creations based upon the Summer Reading Program "Own the Night."
The "Own the Night" theme featured a strong focus on nighttime, nocturnal animals, and astronomy.
Twenty-eight finalists competed in the timed event Friday in the Central Library's Aaronson Auditorium from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The young designers appeared before a panel of judges to explain why their Lego designs were worthy of First Place.
The top three finalists in each age category received a Wal-Mart gift card, a certificate, and a trophy.
The Central Library is located at 400 Civic Center in Tulsa.
