A local company offers an alternative to live grass.
The company Always Greener supplies and installs synthetic grass, a low-maintenance, eco-friendly alternative to the installation of grass/sod.
Always Greener's synthetic grass claims to eliminate annual lawn maintenance costs and significantly reduce monthly water bills.
The company markets to residential homes, commercial properties, contractors, architects, home builders, green rooftops, play areas, dog parks, sport courts, custom rugs, photography studios, apartment gardens, store fronts, and more.
"It looks perfect year round. It's never going to mow, never going to edge, weed eat, fertilize, plant grass, deal with spots ever again," owner Carrie Parker told CNN affiliate KFOR.
Parker previously lived in California, where she said lots of yards are synthetic.
The grass costs about $7 to $10 per square foot.
